We’ve got a few seeds in the ground, and a few flats started indoors. We’ve planted some trees (for shelterbelts, of course) and have delighted in the spring flowers and the fact that our hens are laying more regularly now. But in 17 days, our farm season will really get off the ground with the arrival of 100 baby chicks, 2 hives of bees, and another 100 trees!
This is our first year of production on some land that has been idle for 25+ years, so the name of the game is fertility. Bring on the poultry!
